Midway-Sunset is a self published photography book by Michael Booth and Thomas Line. Named after the largest oil field in the United States, running east of the San Andreas Fault in California's Kern County. This project explores the topography with a formalistic view, creating a playfulness in which the featured thermal expansion loops are isolated from the purpose of which they serve. The pipes ultimately are observed as sculptural beings, creating new life within the landscape.
